Le Ruban Bleu is an example of how Embossed and Perforated metal techniques can be combined

Le Ruban Bleu Commercial Centre, St. Nazaire, France is situated just a few metres from the Atlantic Ocean. Architects Reichen & Robert Associates envisaged a striking design involving almost 1,400 individual cladding and ceiling panels made from 1mm thick salt-water resistant stainless steel.

Le Ruban Bleu is an example of how Embossed and Perforated metal techniques can be combined on a single panel to create a totally unique solution. At Le Ruban Bleu a range of these panels have been custom-designed, machined and installed as architectural cladding and decorative ceiling panels.

The cladding design incorporates a series of complex domed, indented and perforated patterns to represent waves and sea-spray. The 1.5mm thick ceiling panels create a marine map produced from thousands of small perforations.
